  • Preparing you home for Sale

Selling a home is a challenge. We work with Real Estate Agents and families to declutter, renovate and prepare homes to put it’s best face forward for potential buyes.

Tartan Spaces is company that is focused on helping families. Reclaiming your spaces, supporting the sorting and de-cluttering process and managing the packing, moving and unpacking of new spaces.

Just like tartans that are unique to each clan, your space is  specific to your family and how you live.

We take a practical approach to organizing and ‘right’ sizing into a new space.

With years of experience working with seniors, we understand the special requirements of helping elderly clients, their families and POAs find good solutions

The Tartan Way

There are many different organization methods. Finding what work best for you and your family is our priority.

What we know for sure is:  Work with what you have. You don’t need to purchase more bins or shelving until you have sorted and reviewed your items and decided what is important to keep.

Shop in your own house. Try to re-imagine or re-use existing furniture in new ways.

Acquiring and owning items is part of our culture and drives our economy. Holding on to items we no longer use or need starts to create clutter and disorganization that can results in full garages with no room for the car, overwhelming basements and expensive storage units.

The hardest part is getting started. Be kind to yourself.

Making decisions is exhausting when surrounded by what seems like a mountain of stuff.

What our clients have to say!

Recently, Trudy helped me prepare my entire main floor for a renovation which consisted of my living room, dining room, front hall closet, kitchen and an addition that I had my home daycare in for 15 years. My life was changing from little kids and home daycare to adult kids and working outside the house. In ONE WEEKEND, I had this entire area down to 2 pieces of furniture and 4 Rubbermaid bins. Not only had I sorted through 15 years of stuff but the garbage was out by the garbage, the donated items were donated and the selling stuff was on Facebook Marketplace already getting offers. As we sorted through things, whenever I turned around, there were no piles piling up!

I could not have done this, this quickly, this well organized, without her knowledge and expertise. She kept me calm during a bittersweet, emotional time in life. I wanted to move on, I wanted the reno but it was still hard to say goodbye to my old life. She was, as she always is, so incredibly supportive and she seemed to know exactly what to say when the tough bits came along. I would recommend her to anyone who needs help tackling an overwhelming project. From start to finish, she is on it.

How can I even explain the depth of respect we have for Trudy and her skills. After a lifetime of living in one residence, we needed extreme help to prepare for a relocation. Trudy came onboard with her organizational skills, professional yet happy demeanor, and helped us sort through boxes of things ( children's toys, Christmas decorations, linens, household goods, old clothes . . . things we had long forgotten having owned ), packed us, brought in a crew to load a truck, and sent us happily away with what we needed for our new home. Now when we are undertaking a major project, my husband looks at me and says, "Where's Trudy?"
